Problem
The seller needed to move from manual chat-based ordering to a real storefront where customers could browse a full catalog, pay through the methods Indonesians actually use, and see accurate shipping costs before checkout.
Solution
A WooCommerce store integrated with Tripay (bank transfer, e-wallet, QRIS) and RajaOngkir for automatic courier rate calculation, so the entire order flow completes without the owner intervening.
What I built
- Full product catalog with photos and descriptions
- Tripay payment gateway: bank transfer, e-wallet, and QRIS
- RajaOngkir integration for automatic shipping cost calculation
- Streamlined mobile-first cart and checkout
- Pre-launch performance tuning: caching, compression, and lazy loading
- Responsive across desktop and mobile
Engineering challenges
01
Payment methods that match local behaviour
QRIS and e-wallets are the default in Indonesia, not credit cards. Getting the gateway integration right, including asynchronous payment confirmation, is what makes the store usable rather than merely present.
02
Shipping cost accuracy
Manual shipping quotes cause abandoned carts and disputes. RajaOngkir integration calculates courier rates by destination and weight at checkout time.
